Atlanta Hawks’ forward John Collins claimed that it’s really tough to play for a rebuilding team. The young forward described the process of trying to prove his development as a player every night.

“It’s frustrating and difficult to go out every night as an underdog,” Collins said to Chris Kirschner of the Athletic. “Knowing that you’re probably going to lose, knowing you still have to play hard, to prove yourself to your teammates, your coaches and your higher-ups that you still valuable.”

Collins is one of Atlanta’s young “pieces” that stands out this season, averaging about 22 points, 10 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 33 minutes per game.

Last night, he scored 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, helping the Hawks secure the win in OT against the Hornets.
