Despite that they are now heading in different directions, Trae Young still got nothing but love for John Collins.

In the latest episode of his “From The Point” podcast, Young admitted that it was a challenging scenario for him to see Collins leaving the Atlanta Hawks, but he reiterated that it’s the natural business of the game that makes everything subjected to changes.

“It’s definitely tough seeing him go but at the same time like you know this is the business,” Young said, via HoopsHype. “JC knows that too like we’ve had conversations over the years and we’re so close that we noticed in the business if we don’t win things can change in a heartbeat. Me as a teammate I loved playing with JC I’ve throwing a lot of lobs to him he’s made me look really good a lot. I’ve always appreciated JC and I wish him nothing but the best.”

Both Young and Collins helped Atlanta to reach three-straight playoff appearances. The duo also starred in the club’s tremendous Conference Finals finish last 2020-21 season.

After being the most prominent component of the league’s trade chatter, Atlanta finally pulled the trigger this summer and sent Collins to the Utah Jazz for Rudy Gay and a second-round pick.
