Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum is having a breakout season. His performances were recognized and he was picked for the All-Star Game. As it turns out, the selection had an impact on the former 3rd draft pick.

“Once I found out that I made it, it was like a burden lifted off my shoulders. I got to relax and not worry. I’ve just been playing stress-free since,” Tatum said to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer.

Since the All-Star Game the 22-year-old forward turned an upper gear – he is averaging 31.9 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. Some analysts, like former player Kendrick Perkins even stated that the Celtics forward entered the MVP conversation.

Tatum’s overall season averages are: 23.6 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3 assists.
