The Russian city of Ekaterinburg will host the 2013 Euroleague Women Final Eight.

It was in 2011 when then the Final Four was played in the Russian city before it moved to an eight-team format last year in Istanbul. The 5,000-seat DIVS Sports Hall in the Sverdiovsk region will host the premier club competition for women’s basketball, taking place between 18th to 24th March.

“We are glad to return to Eketerinburg after the big success of the Final Four they organised two years ago,” FIBA Europe President Olafur Rafnsson said.

UMMC Ekaterinburg President Andrey Kozitsyn was delighted with the decision. The side are favourites to win this year’s Euroleague Women.

He said: It is a great honour for us to be presented the hosting rights of the Euroleague Women Final Eight. As receiving party, the basketball club UMMC will do its best to justify this trust and conduct the Final Eight at a level, worthy of the strongest clubs in Europe.
