Markieff Morris admitted he joined the LA Lakers because of his brother, Marcus, who was traded to the Clippers a few days before.

Morris added that aside from having the opportunity to play for a title, he could not pass up the chance to play in the same city as his brother.

“I think it had a little bit to do with it. Both of us are going to be competing for a championship and I think we both got a good shot and I was excited when he came to the Clippers and was more excited when I came to the Lakers,” Markieff said, according to Kyle Goon of The Orange County Register.

In three games since joining the Lakers, Markieff is averaging 5.7 points and three rebounds over 17 minutes. The Lakers are 45-12 and sit on top of the Western Conference.
