Lithuania overpowered hosts Venezuela 100-82 at the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Caracas.

Linas Kleiza led all scorers for the victors with 28 points and 5 boards, most of them obtained in the first half but Lithuania as a team were tremendous.

As expected, the best player for the home team was again Greivis Vasquez who finished with 24 points.

In an amazing environment with 12.000 fans, Venezuela and Lithuania started the game trading baskets finishing the first quarter 23-21 for the European side.

Kleiza’s high quality first half with 19 points and plus 50 % shooting from Lithuania gave them a 13 point lead at the half time (49-36) where you could hear the 300 Lithuanian fans celebrating.

With terrific offensive sets, Lithuania continue to build a comfortable lead that was on 16 points at the end of third quarter with Kalnietis and Pocius leading the way in that period.

Vasquez tried to put Venezuela on his shoulders, doing everything but Lithuania was too much for him.

For the rest of the game, Lithuania was on cruise control to get a deserved win 100-82.

60 % from two points and 47 % from three points were the key to grab this win for Lithuania.
