In another classic Greek finals series between the two last Euroleague champions it’s the two coaches stealing the show, but one of them could be leaving soon.

Despite the latest rumours which get reproduced without cross checking the facts by various media outlets all over Europe, Panathinaikos and Obradovic have not agreed on a contract extension.

Far from that it seems after Obradovic comments during the post-game press conference of Panathinaikos-Olympiacos game, which saw the Greens emerge victorious, 84-74.

“I believe this was my last game at OAKA and it will probably be my last game in SEF on Saturday (5th game of series),” Obradovic said.

“Nothing depends on me, there was never a question whether I wanted to stay or not from my side, that was never the question. The result of the SEF game doesn’t matter because we’ve had an excellent season so far.

“Is it normal for a coach to stay at the same club for 13 years? Ferguson is at the same club for 25 years and I would like to stay for 36 years. But it’s not my decision to take. I love Panathinaikos, we are well beyond a typical coach-team relationship.”

He added: “I would like to congratulate the three biggest stars of the team: Diamantidis, Batiste and Jasikevicius. They set an example with the way they play. I am proud to be working with them, no matter the 5th game result in SEF. I honestly believe I became a better coach and man because of them. This final matchup is something special when the two teams fight for a title in a single game. Everyone wants to witness this game. We will do out best to win.”

The fifth and last final of Greek A1 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 19:00 local time.
