The final announcement came from the club today and it’s official now. Ceyhun Yıldızoglu is no longer the head coach of Galatasaray MP. Yıldızoglu joined the club before 2010-2011 season. In his first season at helm, the club did not manage to reach Euroleague Final 8 stage after being eliminated by Fenerbahce. They lost in the TBL finals again to Fenerbahce but managed to beat the Canarias to get the Turkish Cup.

In 2011 summer, Yıldızoglu lead the Turkish national womens team to a historical success: a silver medal at the Eurobasket Women last year in Poland. In the beginning of 2011-2012 season, the expectations increased.

Tina Charles, Diana Taurasi and Alba Torrens along with Epiphany Prince united their skills for the lions. However, things did not go that well. Torrens got injured and Taurasi struggled to find form in some critical matches.

In the Euroleague Women, hosted at the Abdi İpekçi, Fenerbahce beat them again and eventually, Galatasaray MP clinched 5th place with two late wins.

While losing in the finals of TKBL playoffs, the Turkish Cup title was the only thing to cheer about.

The club declared the news while underlining the fact that they are thankful to him for his services and his kindly help on projects about  the younger age teams.
