New York Knicks rookie star RJ Barrett plans to play in the Rising Star Challenge, despite dealing with an ankle injury.

Barrett is recovering from an ankle injury (sprained ankle) and is set to make his return to the court at some point this week. The No.3 of the 2019 NBA Draft said he will be in Chicago during the All-Star Weekend (February 14-16).

“I’ve heard your first ankle sprain, it’ll take a little time. You get used to it. I guess a couple of bumps in the road at the beginning.

Some days you feel good and you want to do more, but you’ve still got to go with the pace and go with the flow and just make sure that you’re fully 100 percent.

One of the things that I dreamed about. I’m very thankful. I feel very honored that I’m going to get the opportunity. For sure, I’m going to go out there regardless [if I’m healthy],” Barrett said, per Marc Berman of the New York Post.

Barrett, who is averaging 14.1 points (on 39.3 percent shooting), 5.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists this season, may be able to return as early as Thursday against the Orlando Magic.
