Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic said he was expecting the Sacramento Kings to pick him in the 2019 NBA Draft.
“They came to Madrid. They came with the owner. Everybody came, so I honestly thought they were going to pick me,” Doncic told Sam Amick of The Athletic.
Asked if he ever understood why he fell to third place, the Slovenian guard stated that “I mean, I think it’s because of the EuroLeague; it’s different basketball.
I was averaging in Europe and in the Spanish League like 12 points (per game). And in Euroleague 14 (points per game). So it’s different basketball.”
The Kings eventually picked up Marvin Bagley III in No.2 of the Draft.
