Houston Rockets superstar Russell Westbrook will be available for the first match against his former team, the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Westbrook will miss the game against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday (08/01), because the Rockets want to ensure he will be ready for his return to OKC.

“Russell’s out that game (vs. Atlanta), but will play the OKC game,” Houston head coach Mike D’Antoni said on Monday (06/01).

Westbrook spent 11 years with the Thunder, averaging 23.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 8.4 assists. He also averaged a triple-double the past three seasons.

With the Rockets this season, Westbrook is averaging 24.1 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.0 assists. Houston will face Oklahoma City on Thursday (09/01).
