NBA teams are getting ready to make roster changes before the trade deadline. Some will aim to improve their position this season, while others are already planning for next year.

The New York Knicks (8-24), who are sitting at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, only above the Atlanta Hawks, could use some trades to climb higher in the standings.

It seems some of the Knicks are expressing desire to leave New York. Ian Begley of SNY reports that several Knicks player have said privately they prefer to be traded:

“It’s also worth noting that a few Knicks have said privately in recent weeks that they prefer to be traded ahead of the Feb. 6 trade deadline, per SNY sources.

“It’s unclear if any of those players have made a formal trade request to management, but the idea that Knicks players want to be somewhere else is indicative of how things have gone for New York this season.”
