Last summer the future of Kawhi Leonard was in doubt. Many expected he would join LeBron James in Los Angeles. Eventually, to everyone’s surprise, Leonard chose the Clippers.
Leonard’s former team, the Toronto Raptors, reportedly never really believed he would go to the Lakers.
Sam Amick of The Athletic reported, per ClutchPoints:
“A source with knowledge of Toronto’s process said the Raptors never truly believed that the Lakers were an option for Leonard.”
