There is lots of talk about Kevin Durant’s decision to go to Brooklyn instead of New York last summer. The likes of rapper Fat Joe and Michael Rapaport called out Durant for doing that.

But it wasn’t surprising for Carmelo Anthony to learn that KD chose the Brooklyn Nets over the New York Knicks. Melo said that every player is choosing what’s best for him and this situation was no different.

Via Marc Berman of New York Post:

“I don’t think it surprised me,” Anthony said. “We all read Durant’s quotes. We know what he said. Whether you agreed with it or not, people have different perspectives about it. It’s not just ‘the Knicks and we’re going to get somebody,’ and it’s a guarantee. Nowadays players aren’t thinking about that. They want to go into a situation where they can enjoy and have fun and not have to deal with that. You have to deal with it in Brooklyn anyway, but it’s not the same. It’s not the same.”

Anthony, who has also played with the Knicks, has no regrets about it even though it didn’t go very well for him.
