Cido Arena is the only EuroBasket 2011 venue which has cycling track in it. Since the track couldn’t have been replaced with additional seats, the fans decided to use it for another purpose. Namely, cover it with a huge flag of Lithuania.
It took several hours to cover the whole track which is 250 m in length and 7 m in width.
The fans refused to reveal the cost of making such a large flag.
The capacity of Cido Arena is 5,500, however, it will be expanded to 7,600 during the tournament.
