Alex Renfroe was excited about the historical night of Zenit Saint Petersburg and the first-ever win of the Russians in the EuroLeague.
Here is what the American guard said in an interview with TalkBasket.net:
On the team’s historical night: “It was a great victory tonight, especially against a club like Olympiacos. A historical victory for the club and we are happy about that.
Zero wins were really heavy for us and we were trying our best to find a way to get rid of that zero and we are happy we did that.
Now that we did that, we should focus more on getting better.”
On whether Zenit needs an adjustment period, with 11 newcomers joining the squad: “For sure we need. It takes a lot of time to adjust when you have many new players.
Especially when you play in the EuroLeague, which is the best quality and the most competitive league.
It is hard to adjust, especially for the newcomers, but as professional players we try to do our best. The players, the coach, everybody does their best.
Hopefully, we will get better day by day. Now, we are in a good place and we are excited about that.”
