In an epic thriller in Shanghai, Team USA edged Turkey (93-92) and secured its ticket to the Round of 16.

In the extra period, things didn’t change much, with the Turks having the chance to seal the deal from the free-throw line (91-92).

Yet, they missed all four free throws and Team USA emerged victorious, thanks to two free throws from Khris Middleton, with 2.1 seconds remaining.

Middleton was the top scorer of the winners, with 15 points, while five more players scored in double figures as well.

Five players scored in double figures for the losing squad, with Ersan Ilyasova posting a game-high 23 points.

Team USA advanced to the Round of 16. On the other hand, Turkey will have to beat the Czech Republic in order to clinch their spot in the second round.
