Maxi Kleber talked about the roster of Germany ahead of the Basketball World Cup as well as the team’s target in the tournament.

Here is what the big man of the Dallas Mavericks told FIBA:

On the roster of Germany ahead of the Basketball World Cup: “We have a lot of potential and plenty of talent.

I really like our pool of players, and I’m very excited to spend time with the guys so we can build the best chemistry and reach our full potential for the start of the tournament.

We have a great camaraderie and the group likes to be together, to learn and grow together. That is very important for the success of the team.

Being a good player is important, but being a good teammate is important, too. We have some guys with experience, and some youngsters that are eager to help the team.

It’s a great time for Germany’s senior national team and we want to make the most of it.”

On the team’s target in the tournament: “We have a lot of talent, a lot of players that are difference makers and we have a solid team chemistry.

Germany has improved a lot the last couple of years and we want to keep stepping up our game. The best is coming, and we are working hard to reach our full potential.

This FIBA Basketball World Cup is a great tournament for us to show our improvement and to keep gaining experience.”

On the level of competitiveness in the World Cup: “We want to try to have a very long run and go far into the tournament.

We know that a lot of teams can fight for a medal spot and that the level of competitiveness is going to be very high, probably one of the highest ever, but we’re going to do everything to stay a long time in China.”
