ImageBelgium grabbed the win in Portugal and topped Group A of the Additional Qualifying Round of the Eurobasket 2009 in Poland. They will now face France in a game that will determine the last participant of the tournament.

Belgium topped Portugal 60-58 behind 15 points of Roel Moors, 12 of Christophe Beghin and 9 of Axel Hervelle who also grabbed 11 rebounds. Carlos Andrade had 16 points and 7 rebounds for Portugal.

France was already qualified for the final game of the AQR and so the last game of Group B between Finland and Italy was more of an exhibition game. Finland beat Italy 95-89 after three defeats. Petteri Koponen had 26 points for the winning side, Teemu Rannikko had 16, as did Hanno Mottola. Belinelli had 26 for the Italians.

Relegation round games also took place with the Czech Republic being relegated after losing to Ukraine in a deciding game with 82-70. In the second game Hungary prevailed over Estonia with 65-60 to clinch first spot of the group.
