In a great final game Greece beat France 90-85 to win the Gold Medal at the U20 European Championship, days after the same, practically, team won the Silver medal in the U19 World Championship, under USA.
With this great win Greece proved that they dominate Europe in the 1988-89 players' generation and one thing is for sure, there is a bright future for Greek basketball in the eyars to come.
Greece had seven players with double digit number of points scored and they were led by Papanikolaou (15 points, 6 rebounds) while Jackson was fighting alone for the French almost winning the game with 32 points and 8 rebounds.
Spain has won the bronze medal with a 75-72 tought win over Italy.
