Darko Milicic has pulled out of the Serbia national team preperations for the Eurobasket 2009 qualifications. Memphis Grizzlies center has been struggling with the Achille tendon injury since late july and didn`t play in the FIBA Diamond ball in Nanjing and Mechel cup in Moscow.
"We did everything we could to bring Darko back on track, but the therapies didnt`t give results. It was clear that Milicic was unable to reach the wanted shape in time for the Euro qualifications that start on 20th of August. It is better for him to get some rest and heal, we will search for another player on the center position", explained Dusan Ivkovic, coach of the Serbia national team.
