According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, the Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard J.R. Smith is expected to join the Los Angeles Lakers if released by the Cavaliers or another team:
“Cleveland, right now, they are trying to trade J.R. Smith and whichever team trades for JR right now, most likely he will be waived and when he’s waived, it is my belief he will end up with the Lakers,” Haynes said.
Last season, the 33-year-old averaged 6.7 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.
