According to Marc Stein of The New York Times, the Boston Celtics “are emerging as a stealth suitor” for Charlotte Hornets point guard Kemba Walker in free agency.

Walker can earn a supermax contract extension from Charlotte that pays him $221.3 million over five years. Any other team can offer a four-year, $140.6 million deal, via Bleacher Report.

Last season, the 29-year-old averaged 25.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game.
