Milton Keynes LionsKeith Darden is delighted to become Coach Michael New’s fourth new addition to his Milton Keynes Lions roster ahead of the 2010/11 season.

The 6’10″American forward takes up his first professional position after a successful career at the University of Livingstone in the NCAA Division II. At Livingstone Darden built a reputation based on his amazing athleticism and quickness

At 6’10” Darden can play multiple positions on the floor and his athleticism allows him to guard smaller players whilst also blocking shots.

Lions’ Head Coach Michael New commented, “we wanted to get more athletic this season Keith has had a tremendous summer being a standout player at the Eurobasket Summer Leagues I think that Keith will be a game changer, without having to have the ball in his hands. He will be one of our anchors on defence, he is a fantastic rebounder and he will always be one of the fastest players on court, we are very excited to have him playing alongside Travis.”

Over the last two seasons Darden has averaged 6 points and 5 rebounds a game whilst averaging 20 minutes a game, and has been shooting 45% from the field. “I am excited to get this opportunity of professional basketball” commented Keith, ” I want to get over to the UK and help the Lions be even more successful” Lions owner Vince Macaulay added, “This is a difficult time right now dealing with the various venue issues we have but the players have been a breath of fresh air and all Lions fans should be really excited about this group and we have more names to announce later this week”

Darden joins Stefan Gill, Kris Clark and Travis Nelson on this year’s much changed roster.
