Leicester RidersFree scoring guard Ryan Zamroz is the latest addition to the Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders squad for the 2010/11 season.

The 23-year-old was in sensational form this summer when he led Geraldton Buccaneers to the SBL play-off semi-finals in Australia.

“Ryan is a multi-skilled guard who has the ability to make plays from all over the floor,” said Coach Rob Paternostro. “He has good size and strength and is someone that caught my eye the first time I watched him play.

“He had a fantastic college career and put up huge numbers in his first season of professional basketball.”

Zamroz poured in an amazing 29 points per game in Australia whilst also adding 4.4 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game. The key to his high scoring antics was his sensational three-point shooting, he netted 113 long range efforts at a 46% accuracy rate.

Prior to that he was three-time MVP at Master’s College in America where he bagged over 1,700 points to put him seventh on the all-time scoring charts.

“I’m looking forward to working with Ryan as I believe he is a young player with a very bright future who is looking to excel at the professional level. He is a great long range shooter who isn’t just a shooter, he finds many ways to put the ball in the basket and has shown an ability to adjust and read whatever the defence gives him,” concluded Paternostro.
