Worcester WolvesHead Coach Paul James has lured 6′ 9″ English forward David Watts, known as ‘Tin Tin’, to Worcester for the 2010/11 season.  Watts, an England International, showed his quality and impressed this summer under Coach James with some excellent performances during the recent tournaments.

PJ commented, “This is third time lucky for me!  I have been a big admirer of Tin Tin for a while and have tried to sign him on two separate occasions before coming good this time around”

Mansfield-born Watts has been one of the dominant English players in the England Basketball League Division 1 for the last few seasons.

David was a key player in Reading Rocket’s undefeated 2008/09 side which did the ‘quadruple’; winning the EBL National Cup, the EBL National Trophy, EBL Division 1 and the Division 1 Play-Offs.  He averaged over 18 points per game including an impressive 45% success rate from beyond the arc.  He won both EBL Division 1 Player of the Year award and Defensive Player of the Year award in that season.

Last season saw him move on to Manchester Magic (Reading’s greatest rivals) where he collected runners-up medals in the National Cup, National Trophy and EBL Division One before helping Magic win the play-offs with a victory against Derby Trailblazers.  Once again he won the Defensive Player of the Year award.

Coach James went on to say,” Tin Tin is one of the best English players never to have played in the BBL and I’m looking forward to him showing his full array of skills in a Wolves shirt this season.  David has been a big time player in Division 1 of the EBL and has titles to back that up.  He is a prolific scorer, is good defensively and has great athleticism.  The time is right for him to play at the highest level that the UK has to offer and I’m delighted it’s with me at the Worcester Wolves!”
