German club EWE Baskets Oldenburg has officially announced the signing of a 23-year-old Australian center Aron Baynes. 2.08 m tall player spent last season in Lithuania with Lietuvos Rytas. It was his first year as a professional.
Baynes has struggled a bit adjusting to European basketball. He averaged 5.5 points and 3 rebounds per game in Euroleague. His stats were better in Lithuanian league though as he averaged 9.3 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.
EWE Baskets CEO Hermann Schuller was delighted with the acquisition of Aron Baynes: “I am delighted that we managed to bring one of the biggest talents in center position in Europe for two years.”
Despite being a center, Baynes showed his dunking skills in LKL Dunk Contest which he eventually won.
