Olympiacos guard Janis Strelnieks will not play again this season, as he has not recovered from the injury he suffered in February.
The “Reds” head coach David Blatt revealed the news during the post-game press conference of the match against AEK Athens on Saturday (20/04).
“Unfortunately, Janis hasn’t been able to practice basketball since the national team injury eight weeks ago. It was a serious muscle injury that didn’t respond well to his attempts to coming back.
He’ll be OK eventually, but he won’t play anymore this year because obviously, we shut him down for the rest of the year and we brought in Will because we couldn’t wait anymore,” the experienced coach told reporters.
