In an interview with the Lithuanian journalist Donatas Urbonas, Fenerhahce GM Maurizio Gherardini praised Zalgiris Kaunas head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius.
Here is what the experienced coach said:
On Jasikevicius: “Knowing how NBA works & the interest before last summer, season like this recognizes him again that he is a prospect for any team in the world. Saras showed that he is definitely elite coach in Europe & can coach anywhere any moment.”
On Zalgiris Kaunas playoff push: “I can’t see something like this happening very frequently. Saras showed he is able to cope with complicated situation & turn it into winning situation, which gives you sort of the stamp. I think now he is definitely a coach, no more a young coach.”
