Virginia and Texas Tech defeated Auburn and Michigan State, respectively, and advanced to the Final of the NCAA.
Auburn came back from a double-digit deficit, but Kyle Guy made three free throws, with 0.6 seconds to go, and Virginia advanced to the National Championship Game (63-62).
In the other semi-final, Texas Tech played excellent defence and rallied past Michigan State (61-51) to qualify to the Final. This will be the first-ever Championship Game for Texas Tech.
