Emoni bates, future Michigan State Spartan

The number 1 ranked propsect for the Class of 2022, Emoni Bates, has committed to play for the Michigan State Spartans.

The 6″9 Small Forward, committed to the Spartans earlier today on a live interview for ESPN.

Bates, 16, has 6 offers from various Division 1 schools, but chose to stay local and join Coach Izzo and the Spartans. Duke, Michigan, Kentucky, Georgia and Florida State were the other scholarship offers for Bates.

The prospect has been described, by some, as the best High School player since LeBron James.

Bates was the winner of the Michigan Gatorade Player of the Year award in 2019. In addition to this, he was the winner of the National Gatorade award in 2020.

In his freshman campaign, he averaged 28.5 points and 10.2 rebounds.
