Rieti has agreed terms with Joy Bryant, the father of the NBA super-star Kobe Bryant, to have him as their coach for the next season, as long as the club manages to their papers done to compete in Lega A in 2009/10 season.
The new president of the club, Gaetano Papalia confirmed the agreement and said that the club will probably manage to come up with the funds required for the permission to play in next season's La Lega A.
Much will depends on the season ticket sales which will be heavily promoted as the club hopes that the fans will help as much as they can.
Joe Bryant has played for Rieti in the mid 80's and would like to come back to the city which he calls 'his first love'.
