Olympiacos played excellent defence for almost the entire game and earned a crucial win over Khimki at home (71-57).

The “Reds” made a great start to the game (14-3) and were in front by nine in the first quarter (20-11).

Although the Russians cut the deficit to one (23-22), the Greeks ended the first quarter on a 9-0 run to take a double-digit lead (32-22).

In the third quarter, the hosts were unstoppable and played excellent on both ends of the floor. They outscored their opponents 23-14 to extend their lead to 19 (55-36) and never look back.

Since then, the visitors couldn’t come any closer than 12 points (62-50) and were defeated.

Five players scored in double figures for the winners, with Sasha Vezenkov and Kostas Papanikolaou having a team-high 14 points.

Jordan Mickey posted a game-high 21 points and seven rebounds for the losing squad, as Tony Crocker added 10.

Olympiacos claimed its seventh consecutive home victory and improved to 12-7, whereas Khimki dropped to 7-12.
