Baskonia center Vincent Poirier discussed with TalkBasket.net regarding the defeat to Olympiacos in overtime on Tuesday night (91-87).
Here is what the French big man said:
On what went wrong during the game: “We conceded many offensive rebounds (14) and they scored easy baskets.
We had to play better defence, especially in the fourth quarter, in order to win in a tough arena like this.”
On whether this defeat can affect the team mentally ahead of tonight’s game against Gran Canaria (11/01): “We have to bounce back, to move on and focus on the next game, which is important and we have to win.”
On if the club has extra motivation as the 2019 Final Four will take place in Vitoria: “For sure, we are excited, it adds more pressure, but we want to do that.
We still have a lot of games ahead, but we have improved since the beginning and now we have to show we can reach the playoffs and fight for the Final Four.”
