James Harden scored the game-winning shot at the buzzer and the Houston Rockets escaped from Golden State with a big victory over the Warriors in overtime (134-135).

Houston’s leader tied the game, with 43 seconds to go, and forced an overtime (119-119). In the extra period, he made a three-pointer at the buzzer and won the game (134-135).

Although Golden State led by as many as 20 points, the Rockets outscored their opponents 49-66 in the second half to turn things around. Since then, it was a late thriller, but Harden took over and stunned the defending champions.

The versatile guard finished the game with 44 points (13/32 shooting), 10 rebounds and 15 assists, as Clint Capela added 29 points and 21 rebounds and Austin Rivers posted 18 points, making crucial shots in overtime.

Stephen Curry had 35 points for the losing squad, with Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson scoring 26 points apiece.

Houston improved to 22-15, whereas Golden State dropped to 25-14.
