Cido ArenaLithuania continues its preparation for Eurobasket 2011. A new arena, which will host the group stage of European Basketball Championship 2011, was opened in Panevezys last weekend. 5,500 fans will be able to watch games in the new venue.

Cido Arena became the third arena built for Eurobasket 2011. Siemens Arena was opened in Vilnius in 2004 and Siauliu Arena was finished in 2007 in Siauliai.

The new arena will host two major basketball events this season. It was chosen for Lithuanian Basketball Federation Cup Final Four and LKL (Lithuanian Basketball League) All Star Day. It will also become the home of LKL side Techasas Panevezys.

After long years of wait the building process started in Kaunas for the new arena which could potentially host the final of Eurobasket 2011.
