ImageFirst round of Spanish league started this weekend. New faces made some impresive shows, such as Bracey Wright (Joventut), Paolo Quinteros (Zaragoza), Daniel Santiago (Barcelona), Pooh Jeter (Menorca)… Old faces continued the same good as last season: Josh Asselin (Manresa), Chris Thomas (Murcia), Igor Rakocevic (Tau Vitoria)… And young prospects from Spain comfirmed their good improvement: Saúl Blanco (Fuenlabrada), Víctor Claver (Pamesa), Víctor Sada (Barcelona)…

It's going to be a very exciting season, starting with a clear candidate: Unicaja Málaga. The Andalusian team outscored Real Madrid (82-65) in a great game of Gomis, Cabezas, Kelati and Haislip. It seems Aíto will get so many things with Unicaja as he achieved preivous seasons in Badalona. In Real Madrid, only Felipe Reyes did a good job.

The other great game was Regal Barcelona vs Joventut Badalona. The game started with both teams playing very well, with great scoring, but on the second half, the great quality of Xavi Pascual's players decided the game, specially with the help of Sada and Roger Grimau, both on defense and offense. The game finished 95-77. On Joventut's side, Mensah-Bonsu is arguably going to be the most spectacular player of the entire league, for sure.

The most exciting game was probably played in Manresa. In a thriller, local team, Ricoh, beat sevillian team Cajasol on the last second (69-68), with a basket by Jordi Grimau. Manresa started dominating the match on the first half, and almost all the entire second half, but courage of Cajasol's players tied the game, and only that last basket decided the game.

The rest of results were:

Granada 83-79 Bruesa

Zaragoza 72-82 Pamesa

Fuenlabrada 97-81 Murcia

MMT Estudiantes 71-76 Iurbentia Bilbao

Vivemenorca 77-79 Tau Cerámica

Gran Canaria didn't played, because this season spanish league has 17 teams, due to the Akasvayu Girona bankruptcy.
