Pops Mensah-BonsuULEB Cup winners DKV Joventut signed 1-year contract with 24-year-old center Pops Mensah-Bonsu who previously played a single game for Granada. He started last season with Benetton Treviso in Italy but was later signed for one-game deal by Granada. Mensah-Bonsu averaged 10 points and 8.4 rebounds per game in ULEB Cup last season.

DKV Joventut were drawn in Euroleague Group C alongside their Spanish ACB rivals TAU Ceramica, Fenerbahce Ulker, Lottomatica Roma, Olimpija Ljubljana and Alba Berlin.

2.07m British center is expected to help Great Britain national team in Eurobasket 2009 qualifying games in September. Great Britain will face Israel, Czech Republic and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
