None of the coaches that were named as the main candidates will join Rytas. The club made quite a surprising move and signed former Zalgiris and Lithuania national team head coach Antanas Sireika. The coach signed 1+2 contract with Lietuvos rytas. Sireika was also linked with his former club Siauliai.
Antanas Sireika comes from Russia where he was working as an advisor at Unics Kazan. He admitted to lrytas.lt that he had offers from other teams but wished to return to Lithuania. Sireika was a bit surprised when he received the offer as he wasn't among the candidates in the press.
