Real Madrid and CSKA Moscow defeated Maccabi Tel-Aviv and Olimpia Milano, respectively, and maintained their perfect record (6-0).

The “Whites” outscored the Israelis 8-23 in the second quarter and took an 18-point lead (23-41). The hosts were unable to make a come-back and, consequently, they saw the defending champions cruise to an easy victory (66-87).

Sergio Llull had 17 points for the winners, with Jaycee Carroll adding 16 and Gustavo Ayon 12 points, along with 12 rebounds.

Johnny O’Bryant scored a game-high 17 points for the losing squad and grabbed seven boards, with Ramon Sessions posting 11 points in his debut with Maccabi.

The Spaniards, who made 15 three-pointers in the game (15/31), remained undefeated in the league (6-0), whereas the Israelis lost for the fifth time in six matches (1-5).

CSKA Moscow came back from a 13-point deficit and prevailed over Olimpia Milano on the road (85-90) to claim their sixth straight victory (6-0).

The Italians were in front by 13, with two minutes to go in the third quarter (64-51), yet the Russians went on a 2-17 run to take the lead (66-68).

It was a close game since then, with Kyle Hines scoring a crucial two-pointer and blocking Mike James on the other end of the floor to help his team seal the deal.

Cory Higgins led CSKA in scoring, with 23 points, along with a PIR of 28, while Nando De Colo added 18 points, four assists and four rebounds for the winners. Will Clyburn had 14 points for the visitors and Alec Peters contributed 10 in the last 14 minutes.

On the other hand, Vladimir Micov posted a season-high 24 points for the losing squad, with Arturas Gudaitis scoring 16 points and grabbing seven boards.

For his part, Mike James made a double-double (12 points, 6/19 shooting, and a career-high 12 assists), but couldn’t give his team the victory.
