Louis Labeyrie had 17 points and nine rebounds for the losing squad, as Mike Tobey posted 13 points and eight boards.
It was a close game in the first half, as no team could take a significant advantage (20-17, 37-37). Later, the hosts played very well offensively (23 points in the third quarter) and earned a six-point lead (60-54).
The visitors tried to come back, but they came up short and, consequently, they were defeated.
Villeurbanne claimed their fifth win in six matches (5-1), whereas Valencia lost for the second time in the EuroCup (4-2).

In the other matches, Turk Telekom defeated Zenit St Petersburg at home (81-75) to earn their third straight voctory, Partizan prevailed over Trento in the return of head coach Andrea Trinchieri to the EuroCup and Fraport Skyliners escaped from Italy with a big win over Turin (75-85).
