In a battle between two traditional powerhouses, CSKA Moscow defeated Olympiacos (69-65) and maintained their perfect record (5-0).

The Muscovites came back from a nine-point deficit in the first half (21-30) and closed the third quarter in front by eight (52-44), thanks to a 31-14 run.

Yet, the “Reds” saw Vassilis Spanoulis take over and scored consecutive points to help his team tie the game, behind an 11-19 run of their own (63-63).

Nigel Williams-Goss and Axel Toupane missed two crucial shots in the final seconds of the game and Will Clyburn and Cory Higgins made the free throws to seal the victory (69-65).

Sergio Rodriguez led the winners in scoring, with 20 points, on 6/10 from beyond the arc. Clyburn added 17 points and nine rebounds.

Spanoulis exploded in the fourth quarter for the losing squad and finished the game with 16 points and six assists, while Giorgos Printezis posted 14 points and six boards and Williams-Goss contributed 13 points for the visitors.

CSKA remained undefeated in the league (5-0), whereas Olympiacos dropped to 3-2.
