Philadelphia 76ers center, Joel Embiid, stated there is no rivalry between his team and the Boston Celtics.

“This is not a rivalry. I don’t know our record against them, but it’s pretty bad. They always kick our ass,” said Embiid, following the 76ers loss to the Celtics in the opening night of the NBA (105-87).

Since the start of the 2016-17 season, Boston are 11-3 against the Sixers in both the regular season and the playoffs. As a matter of fact, five of those victories have come by double figures.

However, their rivalry is expected to intensify in the following months, as they are both considered title contenders.
