Fenerbahce and Baskonia made a great performance and defeated Gran Canaria and Zalgiris Kaunas, respectively, in the EuroLeague premiere.

The Turks played excellent on both ends of the floor and crushed the Spaniards, who came up short in their debut in the competition.

Fenerbahce made a great start to the game (22-10) and continued the same way, cruising to a 25-point victory (97-72).

Jan Vesely was tremendous, with 19 points and 11 rebounds, and Nikola Kalinic added 16, on 5/5 shooting. Christopher Evans scored 13 points for Gran Canaria.

Baskonia outscored Zalgiris Kaunas 29-41 in the second and third quarter and escaped from Lithuania with a great victory (79-87).

Zalgiris ended the first quarter in front by two (24-22), but the Basques took control of the game and had a 10-point advantage at the end of the third quarter (53-63). The situation remained the same later and Baskonia claimed their first win in the competition.

Six players scored in double figures for the team of Pedro Martinez, with Jayson Granger having 15 points. On the other hand, Nate Wolters posted 19 points and five assists in his EuroLeague debut with the Lithuanians.
