Olympiacos played excellent on both ends of the floor and dominated Khimki in Moscow in their opening game in the competition (66-87).

The Russians made an explosive start (12-2), yet the “Reds” came back immediately (12-11) and took control of the game, ending the first half in front by 10 (34-44).

Things didn’t change much later, as the Greeks executed very well offensively (36-51, 66-83), while Khimki missed many shots and couldn’t change the momentum. As a result, Olympiacos started the new season in a triumphant way.

Zach LeDay had 14 points for the winners and Sasha Vezenkov added 13. Olympiacos ended the game with 25 assists.

On the other hand, Alexey Shved was incredible, with 34 points, on 11/23 shooting, and six assists. He scored more than half of his team’s points. Anthony Gill contributed 13 points for the losing squad.

Olimpia Milano spoilt the return of Buducnost to the EuroLeague and were victorious in Podgorica (71-82).

The Italians quickly earned a double-digit advantage and never looked back (11-22, 31-42). The hosts tried to turn things around (49-52, 71-74), yet Olimpia stood tall and won the game.

Five players scored in double figures for the winners, with Vladimir Micov leading the way with 15 points and Nemanja Nedovic adding 14.

Earl Clark had 22 points for the losing squad and Edwin Jackson posted 12.
