In an interview with TalkBasket.net, Michael Roll referred to his goals with Maccabi Tel-Aviv, the game against Panathinaikos and more.

Here is what the 31-year-old forward said:

On the newcomers and the team in general: “The new guys are very talented. I enjoy playing with them and it has been a great time so far. They are top talent.”

On his goals and expectations ahead of the new season: “No expectations, because you never know what is ahead. Regarding the goals, we have to improve than last year and make the playoffs. In the domestic league, we want to defend our championship and win the Cup.”

On the other EuroLeague teams: “There are 16 really good teams with a lot of talent. Every game will be tough, so we have to approach every game seriously.”

On Panathinaikos and the differences with the preseason game between the two teams: “Half of our team wasn’t there. They missed key players, as well. This is not going to be anything like the game in Cyprus.

They are a great team, especially at home. They have a lot of really good players. So, we will try to slow them down.”

On the FIBA WC Qualifiers and the problems they created to the EuroLeague clubs: “It is not just Maccabi, but every team had issues. We had six or more players gone for two or three weeks.

That’s incredible, to be honest. I don’t understand it. Every team goes through it, though, so we have to deal with that.”
