Olympiacos relied on their defence and Vassilis Spanoulis to beat Unics Kazan (70-65) in the Final of the Heraklion Tournament.
The “Reds” captain led the way with 17 points and four three-pointers. Janis Timma added 11 points and Zach LeDay 10. On the other hand, Maurice NDour had 12 points for the Russians.
Olympiacos managed to take a double-digit in the third quarter (57-43). Unics, responded, though, and went on a 18-6 run to cut the deficit to two (63-61).
But, the Greeks played excellent defence at the end of the game and Spanoulis scored crucial points to help his team seal the victory.
