The day’s first semi-final was played between Pireus Olympiacos and Anadolu Efes. After a very close game between the teams and Vasilij Micic was the player who hit the game-winner to send Efes to the final.

The reigning champs will meet one of the Spanish powerhouses in the ultimate match of the competition, either FC Barcelona or Real Madrid.

In the first half of the game, Olympiacos had the advantage while one of the Anadolu Efes leaders Micic struggled to shoot the ball, but Shane Larkin was keeping it close with his three-pointers.

Olympiacos used their bigs well in the first half with Mustafa Fall and Hassan Martin dominating the paint and it worked for them while Anadolu Efes couldn’t find good looks.

Though Larkin let the reigning champs stay close in the game scoring 10 points in the second period alone and Efes came back within fighting distance before going into the break.

Efes came into the third quarter with great energy. Inspired by three triples by Bryant, the Turkish giants ran away from their opponents and created a double-digit lead.

Shane Larkin was the top performer for the winners, accumulating 21 points and 7 assists, Elijah Bryant added 16 points with 6 rebounds and Vasilije Micic 15 points including his game-winner, 9 Assists, 6 rebounds.

Micic played 33 minutes and 52 seconds on for the night and had a +/- 14 next to his name, the highest in the game. It also means that in the 6 minutes and 8 seconds that Micic was on the bench, Efes was outscored by 11 points, clearly indicating his impact in a memorable victory that sent his team to its third consecutive championship game.

On the other side of the court, Shaquielle McKissic was the high-scorer for Olympiacos, ending with 12 points and 3 rebounds while Kostas Sloukas added 11 points 6 assists and 4 rebounds.

“I don’t think we won at the buzzer in all the time we played together,” Efes center Bryant Dunston said after the game. “We hit some last-second shots but this, at the biggest moment, was just an amazing play.”
