Neven Spahija hasn't dropped his habit to bring his former players to his new team. Lrytas.lt reports that Croatian coach wants to sign Matthew Nielsen from Lietuvos rytas. 30-year-old Australian power forward worked with Spahija when he was coaching Lietuvos rytas.
"I know Nielsen very well and I know what he can give to the team. I wish that this deal between Vilnius and Velencia clubs would go ahead", said Spahija.
Matthew Nielsen is playing for Lithuanian runners-up since 2005. He's having 7.4 points and 5 rebounds per game in Lithuanian Basketball League. Nielsen's stats in the Baltic Basketball League are even better where he's having 11.7 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
Jonas Vainauskas, president of Lietuvos rytas said that the offer is being considered and the answer will be given shortly.
