Alexey Shved’s agent talked to the Russian newspaper Izvestia and revealed that EuroLeague’s top scorer turned down lucrative offers from four NBA teams and will remain with Khimki next season.

The 29-year-old player’s agent said relatively: “Every year, NBA teams show interest in Alexey Shved. This off-season, the New Orelans Pelicans, the Memphis Grizzles, the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Phoenix Suns approached him and offered him a deal.

The best deal was at $4M, but it did not cover our needs. Also, we were offered two minimum contracts.”

Shved’s agent added that the Russian guard has nothing to prove to anyone in the NBA: “He has already shown all of his skills, having played three years in the league and has also received an invitation to play at the All-Star weekend in the Rising Stars game. In the 2014-2015 NBA season, he averaged 15.0 points per game in New York, which also proves his willingness to perform excellently overseas.

Therefore, the price of Shved’s contract should be twice as high as it is offered. But, the NBA is the best league in the world and when you move to Europe, then you will be coming back to the league on the clubs’ terms.”
